"ESL Program Volunteer"

Sue has been teaching English classes with Canal Alliance for two decades. Says Martin Steinman, ESL Coordinator, "In addition to her remarkable achievements with her students, Sue has been a mentor to many aspiring ESL teachers and has been a frequent and essential contributor in helping guide the direction of the ESL program as a whole.”

Sue states, “I have enormous respect for my students who have traveled so far in order to make a better life for themselves and their families. After working hard all day, they come to class in the evening, eager to work even more to learn English. It is an honor and a joy to teach them. Classes are filled with talking, learning and laughter. When I go home, I am recharged with energy and hope for the future.”
