Brighten the Holiday Season for Families in Need

Each year, through our Holiday Gift Card Program, Canal Alliance distributes gift cards to the youth and families who access our services. While we appreciate that many generous individuals and groups wish to provide tangible gifts for our clients at the holidays, we have come to recognize the value of providing gift cards. Specifically, youth clients appreciate being able to select the items that they really want and need, and parents enjoy the satisfaction of purchasing and presenting wrapped gifts to their children themselves.

Groups and individuals interested in participating in a holiday gift drive on behalf of Canal Alliance are invited to collect individual gift cards from colleagues, family, friends and neighbors. Of particular value are $25 gift cards from Visa or MasterCard, which can be redeemed at most stores. Gift cards for local retailers like Target or Northgate Mall, along with cash contributions to our gift card fund, are also greatly appreciated.

On December 16, 2016, our University Prep (UP!) college readiness program will host its annual Holiday Celebration, at which $25 gift cards will be presented to each of the 71 middle and high school students participating in the program. Gift cards will also be distributed to client families in need throughout the holiday season.

To participate in our Holiday Gift Card Program, mail or drop off your contributions to Margarita Galindo at 91 Larkspur Street in San Rafael, during weekdays from 9am-12pm & 1pm-5pm.
