Marin Opportunity Center

The Marin Opportunity Centers project primarily serves Marin's immigrant temporary work force and non-immigrant temporary workers. It is comprised of two inter-related components designed to help individuals and families integrate into the community and increase self-sufficiency: (1) two service referral sites called Opportunity Centers and (2) a Virtual Hiring Hall called MarinHelpers.com.

The project is a collaboration of Canal Alliance, Legal Aid of Marin and Ritter Center.  Canal Alliance coordinates services at the San Rafael and Novato Opportunity Centers.  Opportunity Center services include Workplace English Language classes, computer access and tutoring, resource referrals, and enrollment in the MarinHelpers.com database.

Ritter Center
takes requests from residential employers who need help with general labor, moving, hauling, gardening, cleaning and painting just to name a few of the categories prospective that can requested.  Employer requests can be made through www.MarinHelpers.com or by calling (415) 721-777.

Legal Aid of Marin provides overall project support and coordination between the Virtual Hiring Hall and the Opportunity Centers.  For more information see www.MarinHelpers.com.
