We also know that when immigrants have one trusted place that can help address all of their needs — even if that means referring them to a trusted partner — they face fewer obstacles on their path to a better life. Nowhere is the impact of our model felt more strongly than in the way that our immigration and social services teams collaborate to provide personalized support to the newcomer youth who are arriving in Marin after fleeing violence or crushing poverty in their countries of origin.

Others in our community are learning English, gaining digital skills and becoming US citizens; they are gaining quality jobs and launching successful small businesses.

While there is much progress to report, many challenges remain. Every day we hear from immigrants who face a myriad of obstacles as they simply seek to ensure safety, security and wellness for their families. Fortunately, we also hear from many people like you, who support our mission and are determined to stand up to ensure that immigrants have equitable access to resources and opportunity.

With your support, we continue to deepen our work to change the systems and structures that oppress and marginalize the low-income Latino immigrant community. We strive to lift the voices of the community and, with our nonprofit partners, to implement a strategic policy plan aimed at improving family well-being, economic security, and housing stability.
