Comcast Donates $50,000 to Canal Alliance at Grand Opening, Strengthening Support for Education and Workforce Development Programs

January 21, 2025

On October 10, 2024 – Canal Alliance received an amazing $50,000 contribution during their Grand Opening event from Comcast in which it was presented by Comcast’s own Manager of Community Investments, Rabiah Khalid.

Comcast’s partnership with Canal Alliance is helping to provide critical support for the Canal Alliance University Prep program, which serves over 150 students ranging from 6th grade through college. This collaboration brings advanced digital skills training—such as gaming, coding, and digital arts—to middle and high school students, equipping them with the tools they need for the future.

The UP! Program supports middle and high school students with tutoring, social-emotional learning, family coaching, and college application help. The program celebrates impressive successes: 95% re-enrollment, 100% high school graduation, and 100% college enrollment. Once in college, students receive continued support through our College to Career (C2C) Program, including tutoring, behavioral health services, and scholarships.

We are glad to partner with Comcast on this important work for our community.
