Newman’s Own Foundation Provides Key Funding for Canal Alliance Operations

Canal Alliance is pleased to announce that Newman’s Own Foundation has made a grant of $5,000 to support our general operations. This funding will help close the opportunity gap for Latino immigrants and their families. 

In keeping with Newman’s Own Foundation’s mission to nourish and transform the lives of children who face adversity, Canal Alliance works to break the generational cycle of poverty faced by Latino immigrants and their children, many of whom fled their home countries in Central America to escape political corruption and violence.  

For the past 40 years, Newman’s Own Foundation has donated 100% of profits to good causes, and its current operating goals are to reach more children; strengthen and empower trustworthy, heroic, impactful organizations; and raise public awareness of important children’s issues.  

Thanks to this generous grant, Canal Alliance can continue serving children and youth in our community through our education program that guides young people through high school, college, and beyond by providing academic support, family engagement, college and career exploration, and scholarships. 

Newman’s Own Foundation is a private foundation established by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, known for its philanthropic legacy of “giving it all away.” In 2022, the Foundation relaunched its mission to be 100% focused on helping to nourish and transform the lives of children who face adversity.
