The staff, board and executive team at Canal Alliance are proud to announce that Canal Alliance has been named as one of the newest members of the UnidosUS Affiliate Network.

UnidosUS, previously known as NCLR (National Council of La Raza), is the nation’s largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. Through its unique combination of expert research, advocacy, programs, and an Affiliate Network of nearly 300 community-based organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico, UnidosUS simultaneously challenges the social, economic, and political barriers that affect Latinos at the national and local levels.

“Membership in the UnidosUS Affiliate Network is a testimony to all the work that Canal Alliance is doing to eliminate the barriers to success for Latinos in Marin County,” says Omar Carrera, CEO of Canal Alliance. “We are the first affiliate organization in the North Bay and we hope to continue serving as a leader for driving meaningful change within our community.”

For 37 years, Canal Alliance has been a champion of immigrants in Marin County, providing immediate needs assistance, immigration legal services, and education and workforce development opportunities formotivated Latino immigrants and their families. Every year, the organization educates, empowers, supports and partners with more than 4,000 hard-working immigrants to help them meet their unique needs and overcome the generational cycle of poverty.

“We are especially excited that the addition of these Latino champions strengthens UnidosUS’s Affiliate voice and influence to expand opportunities for our community across key states—like California and Florida—and on major issues for Latinos, like education,” noted Viviana Lopéz-Green, UnidosUS Senior Director of Affiliate Engagement.
