Registration for Citizenship Class Spring 2020
April 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Become a U.S. Citizen.
U.S. citizenship provides greater security and opportunities for lawful residents who are eligible to apply. In addition to safety from deportation, U.S. citizenship gives people the right to vote and the ability to sponsor family members to immigrate to the United States.
In many cases, the naturalization process can be long and complicated. For this reason, Canal Alliance offers regular Naturalization workshops to help eligible individuals submit their N-400 application and identify assistance for those with financial need.
To simplify the process, Canal Alliance offers 10-week Citizenship Classes throughout the year to prepare individuals for the Citizenship Exam and the United States Customs & Immigration Services (USCIS) interview process.
- Registration: April 6th 9:00am -12:00pm and Tuesday, April 7th 4:00-7:00pm
- In-person registration is mandatory for new students as we need to evaluate their English level. Class will be held in English only and basic proficiency in reading and writing is required.
- First day of class: April 14th, 2020
- Class schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays nights, 6:00-8:00 pm in CR91
While having a pending naturalization application is not a requirement to enroll, we highly recommend clients begin the application process before taking the class. ILS offers free immigration consultations to help determine eligibility. (Learn more about the benefits and eligibility requirements for citizenship here.) The Summer Citizenship Class session will begin on August 11th, 2020.
