FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION
Volunteers are needed every Tuesday from 8 am to 11 am to provide fresh produce and packaged foods to hundreds of families in the Canal neighborhood. Our Food Pantry volunteers help unload food from the truck, pack grocery bags, stock shelves, distribute food, and clean up. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one month (four weeks) of service. ESL TEACHER’S AIDE
Canal Alliance is seeking volunteer teacher’s aides for ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Volunteers assist in an online ESL class one evening per week. All classes are via Zoom; there are no in-person activities. The role is an excellent opportunity for people interested in language instruction or in learning about the ESL field. Serving as an aide is also a rewarding experience for anyone who wants to support the immigrant community here in Marin.

Citizenship Teacher’s Aide
Citizenship aides are part of our support team for clients who have applied for U.S. citizenship and are studying for their exam. Aides assist in an online Citizenship class one evening per week (Monday or Wednesday) from 5:30 to 7:45 pm. For a portion of each class, aides work in breakout rooms to help a small group of students with exercises and activities that prepare them for their naturalization exam and interview.

Virtual College Math/Science Volunteer Tutor
Help make a change by becoming a STEM tutor and bridging the gap for Latinx/Hispanic college students. As a Math/Science Tutor, you meet with a college student for an hour via Zoom to help them in their math or science college course. You will be partnered with the same student for one-on-one, weekly sessions. Therefore, you will get to know your tutee on a personal level while helping them achieve their academic goals.
