Canal Alliance is grateful to benefit from the support of many energetic, nurturing and committed volunteers. Every day, our volunteers help Latino immigrants and their families in Marin to gain stability in their lives, access education, legal and social services, better employment opportunities, and so much more.

Current Opportunities

Food Pantry Distribution (wait-list)

Volunteers needed every Tuesday 8am – 11am. The Canal Alliance Food Pantry offers fresh produce and packaged foods for hundreds of families in the Canal neighborhood every Tuesday. Each week, volunteers provide support in unloading food, packing grocery bags, stocking shelves, handing out food in the walk-through system, and clean up and take down of the Food Pantry as it closes. Volunteers must be able to commit to a minimum of one month (4 weeks).

ESL Teacher’s Aide

We are currently seeking volunteer teacher’s aides for our spring 2022 ESL classes. Volunteers assist in an online ESL class one evening per week for 14 weeks, starting the week of January 17. All classes are via Zoom; there are no in-person activities. Please click on “learn more” below to see the full job description. 

The volunteer ESL teacher’s aide role is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in language teaching or in learning about the ESL field, and is also a rewarding experience for anyone with a desire to support the immigrant community here in Marin.
