Updated 7/10/20: Due to ongoing COVID-19 health crisis we are taking a break from onboarding any new volunteers (except for the Food Pantry, see below). Most of Canal Alliance’s programs will be on hiatus until further notice. Please check back here for future updates on volunteer opportunities.

After clients have filed their naturalization applications, they need to prepare for the Citizenship Exam. We are currently seeking volunteer citizenship Exam Tutors who can help clients study for the civics and history portions of this exam. All volunteer tutors are organized and supervised by Canal Alliance’s site coordinator.

Canal Alliance’s Immigration Legal Services (ILS) program directly addresses the urgent need within the Spanish-speaking immigrant community for immigration legal services, so they can secure legal status to become engaged, contributing citizens. We offer the only affordable, comprehensive legal services to low-income immigrants and their families in Marin County.
