Incorporating murals into our public spaces allows us to share the work of local artists, promote the stories and experiences of Latino immigrants, and inspire our clients, community members and visitors.

You Are Home / Sientese en Casa

The “You Are Home/Sientese en Casa” mural was installed in our main lobby in March 2019 and features the collaborative work of 10 talented local artists.

Empowered through Education

This mural, which features the story of Dr. Ramon Resa, was installed in December 2019. It is intended to inspire all who enter our building by sharing the power that education has to transform lives and futures. On their way to classes, students in our education programs are reminded that if role models like Dr. Resa can make the inspired journey from farmworker to pediatrician, they too can achieve their dreams.

True Colors Mural

In 2011, students from the Canal Alliance youth program participated in a ten-month project that resulted in a remarkable 22 x 28 feet community mural on the exterior of our building at 91 Larkspur Street. Entitled “True Colors,” this public art project is a reminder of the rich ethnic, social and cultural diversity of the Canal neighborhood, and celebrates the strength and resilience of students and Canal residents.

This mural was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Canal Alliance, ForWords, Precita Eyes Muralists Association and Marin Community Foundation.
