How much do your services and programs cost?
The vast majority of Canal Alliance services, programs, and classes are offered free of charge. In fact, in some cases, for classes that require a long enrollment period, we are able to offer clients stipends to earn while you learn. On occasion a small charge is required by our immigration legal services team, but nobody will ever be denied services if unable to pay.
What should I do if ICE comes to my home or work?
You have constitutional rights, regardless of your immigration status. Please visit our Immigrant Rights Education page to educate yourself and access resources to help you develop a family plan.
Does Canal Alliance have walk in hours? What hours are you open?
Yes, we have walk in hours at both of our locations. Please visit the Get Started page, above, to see our hours of operation and learn about which services are offered at which of our locations.
Who is eligible for your services and programs? Are your services and programs offered in person or online?
We serve Latinos and immigrants who live, work, or study in Marin County.
Some of our programs and classes are held online, some are hybrid, and others require coming in person. Please visit the program pages of our website to find specific details or contact our reception team via the Get Started page above.
What is the difference between your neighborhood location and your headquarters location?
Our neighborhood location at 91 Larkspur in San Rafael has a weekly food pantry, therapists and support groups, and front desk team that can support with immediate needs and provide referrals for additional programs and services.
Our headquarters at 711 Grand in San Rafael houses our immigration legal services, youth and adult education, policy and civic engagement programs, and our administrative teams, including finance and fundraising.
